This line has been Sophia's bed time routine, but I haven't said this for more than 2 weeks. She started to hate going to bed by herself and insisted going to bed with mommy. I don't know if it's because she's smarter and understands fear, or she sleeps too much during the day, or ??? Who knows.
I made this blanket for Sophia to bring to daycare for nap, the old one is too small. She does grow even we don't realize seeing her everyday.

Ready for a tea party

Sophia used to have a set of plastic table and chairs made by step2. The table and chairs are foldable, durable, easy to clean, but the look is way too far from a tea party. Luckily we found a set of handmade wood table and chair set at a garage sale for only $10. With some fresh white paint and a set of hand made table cloth and chair cushions it looks about ready for a tea party. However the first thing Sophia wanted to have on her table was playdough.

We went to Children's museum today. There were lots of new things, Red dog Clifford, How people make things. We spent more than 3 hours in that building and backyard.

A very yellow day

Yesterday was a yellow day. I started with an outfit of yellow Tee and yellow belt, came back home with some yellow stuff from a thrift store on the way.
Yellow bias tape, yellow rick rack, yellow vintage apron, yellow place mats.

I just got my new computer in, which comes with two huge LCD monitors.

Sophia was home yesterday due to the snow storm. Instead of letting TV babysit I spent some quantity time with her.

We danced with her favorite CD (wee sing for baby). We drew a lot of things.

Sophia's vocabulary:

Potato -> she calls turtle

Cake -> she calls cup (because she learned it from cupcake)

Music -> she calls milk (she can never pronounce "s")

Snack -> she calls nack (refer to above)

The plan

I've been thinking of opening an online store at Etsy to sell my handmade stuff for a while. Today I spent a few minutes and made a plan. The estimated grand opening will be July 16th. I'll spend this month on business design, and will also make a good selection of stuff for the opening.

It's not done yet, I still need to add things on the wall, but it has been too long, almost half a year, so I'll just show what it looks like now.

Sophia's new favorite thing!

Water weekend

We had a wonderful time on weekend.

Spent more than half a day with B & H. Sophia went into the pool for the first time, she was scared by lots of water at the beginning, after a few minutes, she got used to it and started to enjoy the water fun, but eventually she decided it was enough and refused to get into the water again. Sophia also had fun playing in sand box with Angela, which makes us buy her a sand box at home, too.

Sunday, we spent half a day at the Children's museum, which was also lots of fun. Since it's summer time, museum was not very crowded. We started with water play, and then went to new exhibition of red dog Clifford. Sophia may not know Clifford too much but she loves all the pretend play in Clifford world. Clifford world has everything you see in the real world, Sophia fed the red dog by sending him lots of bones, worked in the garden, played in the sand beach, cooked in cafe and even counted the cash at register, she also sorted mail in post office, drove the Clifford boat, drew Clifford in the art corner, danced in the theater. That was a lot of activities. Our last stop was the puppet show, to my surprise Sophia was still not old enough to enjoy the clown, she asked to leave with tears when the polka dot clown came closer to us.
Since last Sunday, Sophia has a serious problem going to bed, she insists sleeping with mommy. I'm wondering if that was because of polka dot clown.

Show and Tell

I was very productive last week, getting closer to finish my to do list.
Cleaned up basement and my work area, now it looks better than before.

Made a summer tote bag.

Did some shopping, got a dress for Sophia
and matching dress for her baby doll,
they're super cute, also bought a handbag for myself.

Baby gift set

I finished a baby gift set yesterday, first time sewing this, the result was quite good.
The set includes an oversize baby blanket (great for big baby),
a bib and burp cloth,
a keepsake pillow with baby's initial
and a pink handmade card.

I also throw in a pink photo album in the gift bag.
This is a gift for B and H's new baby girl, hope they like it.
